 The first part of a joint interview we did with Best Friends Forever:

A deep breath. Standing at the edge of the most unrivaled of human experiences. Rolled out before tentative toes and reflected back from the darkness and the depths of too fertile an imagination. An ominous prospect, this European Tour, it’s already been talked into the ground, I’m sure. Dreams dared to be realised, bottled up and bought along for the ride. A long ride east. A short ride south. This is where they stand now. Together.

A string of ephemeral hours awaits, all intertwined and shrouded in mystery. Soon to be sewn together by a single golden thread, along with all the common ground, the mutual tastes, shared ideals, satisfied stomachs, quenched thirsts and fulfilled passions. Two words which in themselves, and alone, suggest a wealth of experience the likes of which most will never fully understand.

The days are peeling away. The clock is ticking. Soon will come the time when five pairs of burning coals fix their gaze for the first time upon the bright and beautiful faces also adorned with anxious expressions. The expecting impressions of the other. The beginning of a journey that will be excitedly told and retold in a variety of colourful ways. Ad infinitum. A host of different tongues, all salivating esoteric anecdotes infused with sweet candor. Hysterics in their fantastic eyes, moist now thinking of the distance that separates one from the other.

Before all that though there is the beginning. Before the beginning is the prelude. The introduction. The allusions to their own expectations. The spoilers. The muffled tunes of van songs they’ll sing when sifting through an only half imagined Europe. The taste of dinners they’ll get their fill of when the get there. The smells of breakfast when they wake. The teasers. The trailers. The how do you do’s. The hand shakes. The pleasantries. The skirting around small talk, waiting to get to the bare bones.
